Material culture

The rich lithic and organic remains at Dolni Vestonice and other Moravian Gate sites are being investigated using modern and classic archaeological techniques. For further information please contact Prof. Jiri Svoboda.

Archaeobotany

Archaeobotanical techniques are being used to investigate palaeolithic people-plant relationships. For further information please contact Prof. Martin Jones.

Isotopes

Isotopic analyses of bones and teeth are being used to reconstruct past diets and climatic conditions at Palaeolithic sites in Moravia. For further information please contact Dr Rhiannon Stevens.

Soils and sediments

Geoarchaeological and micromorphological techniques are being used to investigate the history of human occupation and climatic fluctuation at Moravian Palaeolithic sites. For further information please contact Prof. Martin Jones.

Archaeozoology

Archaeozoological techniques are being used to investigate the relationships between Palaeolithic humans and animal in the Moravian region. For further information please contact Dr Miriam Nyvltova.
