Biography
I finished BA in archaeology at Peking University in Beijing in 2016 and completed MA in Public Archaeology with distinction at UCL in London in 2021.
Having trained as an archaeologist in China and South Korea, I had some field experience working with locals at sites in China, Korea, and Azerbaijan where I was able to encounter different ways of encountering the past by the public through archaeological sites.
Before I came to the UK, I worked as a field archaeologist in South Korea.
Research
My PhD thesis explores the role of museums in the process of reconciliation. I am using exhibitions on the Korean War in South Korea as case studies to study the public perceptions of the museum representations of an ongoing and sensitive past.
In general, I am interested in conflict heritage and public perception of the past.
