The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge announces a two-day symposium from 29-30 September, 2023, entitled "Illicit Trade and the Global Caribbean in the 19th c. Age of Revolutions", taking place at the McDonald Institute (Downing Site), Cambridge.

The symposium will feature 14 speakers, conclude in a roundtable discussion, and will result in an edited volume. The events include three receptions, two catered lunches, an evening of flamenca guitar, a tango demonstration by the current European champions, and conclude with a Brazilian Carnival at the Downing Site!
